20speciation%20cannot%20be%20ruled%20out%20as%20contributing%20to%20richness%20variation%20in%20the%20indigenous%20species.%20Differences%20between%20the%20indigenous%20and%20invasive%20species%20highlight%20the%20ways%20in%20which%20deconstruction%20of%20richness%20gradients%20may%20usefully%20inform%20investigations%20of%20the%20mechanisms%20underlying%20them.%20They%20also%20point%20to%20the%20importance%20of%20population%20size-related%20mechanisms%20in%20accounting%20for%20such%20variation.%20In%20the%20context%20of%20the%20sub-Antarctic%20our%20findings%20suggest%20that%20warming%20climates%20may%20favour%20invasive%20over%20indigenous%20species%20in%20the%20context%20of%20changes%20to%20elevational%20distributions%2C%20a%20situation%20found%20for%20vascular%20plants%2C%20and%20predicted%20for%20springtails%20on%20the%20basis%20of%20smaller-scale%20manipulative%20field%20experiments.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%2212%5C%2F2019%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22en%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%2210.1038%5C%2Fs41598-019-48871-1%22%2C%22ISSN%22%3A%222045-2322%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22http%3A%5C%2F%5C%2Fwww.nature.com%5C%2Farticles%5C%2Fs41598-019-48871-1%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%224ZZ3HNUN%22%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222021-01-04T12%3A58%3A53Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
